The boats are running, the tunes are humming and the season has begun here in Doolin. We’re looking forward to our first proper season here in Doolin since the summer of 2019 and our little village is buzzing. So many places have taken the time to make improvements to their premises here in the village so that the offering in Doolin is the most varied and diverse it has ever been. Doolin was always known for the music but now it is also becoming a real foodie destination with top quality Michelin listed fine-dining restaurants, award-wining pub grub, a seafood bar & takeaway, an organic wine bar, authentic wood-fired pizza, charming cafes, awesome coffee and an artisan grocery. Whether you want to dress up or dress down, eat in or eat out, Doolin has it all on a plate.

We’ve had a great start to the year here in Hotel Doolin winning Overall Green Business of the Year at the 2022 Green Awards beating off stiff competition from huge companies such as An Post, Aldi, Tesco, Gas Networks Ireland which just shows you what a small company can achieve.  We also won The Green Tourism & Entertainment Award and the Green Medium Sized Organisation of the Year Award and earlier in the Year we won Ireland’s Greenest Hotel at the Gold Medal Awards and were nominated for Best Wedding Venue Munster at the Wedding Online Awards. Most recently we were thrilled to be listed number 13 in TripAdvisor’s Top 25 Small Hotels in Ireland as part of the Best of the Best, Traveller’s Choice Awards so thank you to all of you who stayed with us this year and took the time to leave a review, it means so much to the team here to be recognised like that.

We’ve been busy with the hammer and paint-brush too. Stonewall has had full body makeover and has transitioned to an Organic Wine Bar, Wood-fired Pizzeria and Coffee House. With a large selection of wines on tap, cocktails, pizzas, sharing plates, salads, baked goods and desserts all on offer and currently open Fri-Sun from 10am until 11.30pm Stonewall is Doolin’s newest haunt to hangout. Share some local cheeses or charcuterie with some friends, work your way through our organic wines on tap, treat yourself to our seafood tower or just sit at the bar and sip a cocktail while enjoying the laid-back atmosphere and chatting to Jeanne your host. Please check out our menu here.

We’ve also been working on our latest project, The Attic Live Music Venue. The Attic will host live intimate gigs, plays, launches, theatre, comedy and film throughout the year. Also available for private hire. With a full sound system, projector and screen as well as a fully stocked bar, outdoor terrace & smoking area and a ceiling designed by artist Sufek. The Attic Live Music Venue is a vibrant cultural space in the beating heart of Doolin. Check out upcoming live events on our website https://www.hoteldoolin.ie/the-attic.html

The Doolin Folk Festival is back on the 10th-12th June after a two-year forced hiatus and we can’t wait to welcome everyone one back for a jam-packed weekend of music. Featuring the eclectic mix of performers that Doolin is known for and packed with talent from Clare, Ireland and the wider world this year’s programme includes performances from Peggy Seeger, Mary Black, Damien Dempsey, Susan O’Neill, Ye Vagabonds, the olllam, Strange Boy, Wyvern Lingo and much more. For full line-up, tickets and more info check out our festival’s website here www.doolinarts.ie/events

Fitz’s Pub will continue on with its policy of music 365 days of the year with an exciting line-up of residencies and guest musicians and bands. Doolin has always been famous for welcoming musicians from all genres and walks of life and the open session was something that was a big part of this. Sadly, the open session has been somewhat in decline of late, not just in Doolin but all-around Ireland. Here at Hotel Doolin we want to give a space where musicians can rock up, tune up and feel comfortable joining in. From Mon-Thurs we will be hosting open sessions. The famous Monday night session hosted by Eoin, Jono, Adam and Kieran will continue (hopefully forever) and on Thurs night local musician Charles Monod will host the Tunes from Doolin session which will feature different guest musicians each week. On the weekends we liven it up a bit with bands that will have you dancing and singing along. We programme our music a month ahead so please check out our monthly music schedule here

Fitz’s will be serving breakfast from 8-10.30, lunch 12.30-3.30 and dinner 5pm-9.30pm seven days a week, our menu of classic Irish pub grub and nightly seafood specials is served in the cosy back room while the pub section is reserved for drinks and music. Please check out our menus here and Glas is available for private dining for groups and special occasions. Please see Glas sample menu here

After two very difficult years we are so looking forward to bringing people together to make magic memories in Ireland’s biggest small hotel, whether it’s cocktails with the girls, your best friend’s wedding, a gig you’ve been holding out for, a boogie on the dance floor, some tunes with your mates, a special birthday dinner or a hideaway with the squeeze, we’ll see you this summer for some foolin’ in Doolin.
